Position Overview

The Regional Director, Donor Collections Operations directs all donor blood collection activities across the assigned region and ensures full compliance with blood bank, accreditation, and regulatory standards. This leader provides strategic and operational oversight to managers and supervisors while ensuring donor recruitment and collection goals are consistently achieved.

The successful candidate will be based in Tallahassee and will play a key role in maintaining an adequate and safe blood supply through operational excellence, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of managers and supervisors responsible for day-to-day regional collection operations
• Ensure compliance with all applicable blood banking regulations, accreditation standards, and safety requirements related to the collection, storage, and handling of blood and blood components
• Partner with internal departments to maintain a safe and sufficient blood supply across the region
• Analyze operational data and collection activities to identify trends, improve efficiencies, and implement process improvements
• Manage operating expenses through effective allocation of personnel, equipment, and facility resources
• Provide strategic input to senior leadership regarding programs and initiatives designed to meet regional blood collection demands
• Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, teamwork, and donor-centered service

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
• Minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Experience leading multi-site operations, healthcare services, blood banking, donor services, or regulated environments strongly preferred

• Ability to interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, and operational data
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships across departments and teams
• Ability to travel up to 50% and commute using personal transportation
