The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (PLM) seek a full-time transfusion medicine faculty member (https://usccareers.usc.edu/job/los-angeles/assistant-associate-or-professor-of-clinical-pathology-transfusion-medicine-chla/1209/79941301584). Our Transfusion Medicine program includes a Blood Donor Center (12,000 whole blood and 2,000 platelet donors), Blood Bank/Transfusion Service (18,000 transfusions), and Therapeutic Apheresis (550 cases including stem cell harvest, extracorporeal photopheresis, plasma and red cell exchange). CHLA serves a very large pediatric population with a broad range of clinical conditions and acuity, including patients with diverse hematologic conditions from our Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI). CHLA’s Clinical Departments/Division/Service Lines and Saban Research Institute (TSRI), as well as KSOM USC provide a rich environment for collaborative multidisciplinary research. Educational and training opportunities exist with a wide range of interdisciplinary clinical trainees. As an Open Rank position, salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, a California medical license upon hire, and demonstrated excellence in Clinical Pathology (CP), transfusion medicine, translational research and education. American Board of Pathology (ABP) certification in CP and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine is required.
