Gulf Coast Blood is seeking a skilled Consultation & Reference Tech III to join our mission-driven laboratory team in Houston. In this critical role, you will prepare special blood components and perform advanced immunohematology testing on both patient and donor samples. Your work will support over 170 hospitals and service partners across the Texas Gulf Coast, directly contributing to lifesaving transfusion decisions and patient care.
We’re looking for professionals who work with precision, are naturally curious, and value quality. You’ll demonstrate competency in core Tech II functions and perform moderately complex antibody identification, compatibility testing, and donor serological testing under the guidance of Specialists. You will also prepare consultation reports, evaluate and process sample requests, monitor blood component inventory, perform quality control and preventative maintenance, and follow all departmental SOPs and regulations.

Qualifications:
MT/MLS/SBB certification (ASCP or equivalent) required at time of hire
New graduates encouraged to apply
4 years of recent Blood banking experience within an immunohematology reference laboratory (IRL)
