The large, dynamic Division has >10 faculty and has four core areas:  blood bank, apheresis, immunogenetics/HLA, and research.  The blood bank is responsible for transfusing >80,000 units of blood each year, the apheresis service performs >2,500 therapeutic procedures each year and the Division has one of the most active research programs with ~$15 m
