Transfusion Service Medical Director at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, University of California San Francisco

Position Description

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical Pathologist at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, to serve as the Transfusion Medical Director. Applicants must hold an M.D., D.O, or an M.D./Ph.D. degree with eligibility for California medical licensure and be board certified/eligible in Clinical Pathology (CP) or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). Subspecialty board certification or eligibility in Transfusion Medicine is desirable.

This position is at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the HS Clinical or Clinical X
series, which emphasizes strong commitment to excellence in clinical service and teaching.
Demonstrated interest and experience in teaching (at both resident/fellow and medical student
levels) is preferred. Clinical/translational research or other scholarly/creative activities are
expected for applicants in the Clinical X series. Candidates must meet all required qualifications
at the time of appointment. Candidate's application materials must state basic qualifications (or
