This position serves as a Medical Technician in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, KY. The employee performs many lab functions which include, but is not limited to the following tasks: accessions specimens into computer system, collects patient specimens (phlebotomy), answers questions relative to patient specimens, and instructs and assists patients in specimen collection. To qualify for this position, applicant(s) must meet the following requirements: English Language Proficiency - In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
