The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Director for the Transfusion Medicine Laboratory for full-time appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The laboratory is involved in a spectrum of clinical and translational transfusion medicine research projects. The service performs over 150,000 tests, processes and distributes approximately 50,000 blood components, and processes approximately 500 stem cell products annually and has active programs in stem cell transplantation, liver transplantation, trauma, critical care, cardiothoracic surgery, obstetrics, hematology and oncology. The candidate will report to the Director of Transfusion Medicine. They will actively engage in educational activities, including supervision and mentoring of the transfusion medicine fellow and pathology residents. The candidate should show a strong commitment towards innovation, research and advancement of knowledge in the field. Current transfusion medicine fellows are encouraged to apply.
Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
