Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.

Participates in educational activities to maintain current knowledge in the field.
Successful completion of initial and subsequent competency exams required.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

This position is first shift with a second shift weekend rotation. Weekdays are 1st shift with rotating start times 530a-8a. Weekends/holidays are worked on 2nd shift, start time 2p or 230p.

As a generalist with our medical laboratory team, you'll work in multiple areas and refine your skills through time spent inblood bank, toxicology, urinalysis, chemistry, hematology, and more!As a member of the laboratory team you'll support aLevel I trauma center.This role will do automated, semi-automated, and manual testing in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Geisinger Medical Laboratories utilizes a centralized, laboratory-specific call center to handle critical values reporting, recollect notifications, and other calls so our technical laboratory staff can focus on providing quality, timely results. Our technologists enjoy the support of a dedicated Laboratory Client Services contact team that operates 24/7 .

Education Qualification and Details
Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of anASCP/NAACLS-accreditedMedical Technology program OR;
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification OR;
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory
Medical Lab Technician:
Associate degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Military experience will be considered. US Army 68K Medical Laboratory Specialist, US Navy Medical Laboratory Technician, US Air Force Medical Laboratory Apprentice.
