The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Section of Transfusion Medicne in the Division of Clinical Pathology. The section is responsible for performance of Transfusion Medicine services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – the school’s 650 bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ and partner of the Cancer Institute of NJ, a NCI designated Cancer Treatment Center. The successful candidate will be a member of the Transfusion Medicine team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as an active participant in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students, residents, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities. This active clinical position will involve complex transfusion consultations, stem cell collection and infusion, cellular therapy adult and pediatric, apheresis and assistance for complex coagulation conditions with guidance from senior transfusion faculty if needed. Applicants must have experience or fellowship training in all aspects of clinical transfusion medicine practice, including immunohematology, transfusion service, cellular therapy, apheresis and laboratory and clinical coagulation.
An MD, DO, or MBBS is required along with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP or CP and transfusion medicine. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic experience. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
