Medical Technician - Phlebotomist
The primary purpose of this position is to perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, accessioning, processing and clerical duties. The position performs a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures using automated instruments and some manual methods. This technical work is in a clinical setting performing tests and examinations. This position is located in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at the Memphis VAMC, Memphis Tennessee To qualify for this position at the GS-4 level, you must meet the following requirements. ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
