The Department of Pathology, Anatomy & Cell Biology of Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a physician with experience and training in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and Apheresis at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, tenure eligible, clinical and educational scholarship track. Rank will be commensurate with training, experience, and academic record.
Clinical service would include responsibilities related to therapeutic apheresis, allogeneic stem cell collections, a hospital-based Blood Donor Center, and the blood bank laboratory. Clinical responsibilities would support Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and its affiliates.
Faculty are expected to participate in inter- and intra- departmental conferences, play an active role in the training of Pathology residents and a Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine fellow, and instruct medical students of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Sufficient time will be allocated to pursue academic interests and translational research.
Applicants must have an M.D., M.D. /Ph.D., or equivalent degree and must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Pennsylvania. Candidates must also be board certified or eligible in Blood Banking / Transfusion Medicine through the American Board of Pathology.
