Responsible for managing and coordinating all testing process activities for the Production Laboratory (PL), to include orders, sample accessioning, testing, and post-analytical processes for testing orders received at the QualTex the Production Laboratory in San Antonio Tx. Responsible for collaboration with Team Leaders, Managers and Directors, and consultation with other QualTex business partners on the testing processes performed by the PL. Provides supervisory oversight of Laboratory Technicians and Assistants and advises them on career path development.

It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Organize and manage all test orders, sample receipt/testing and post-analytical processes for the production laboratory operations in San Antonio, TX.
Monitor time and attendance of staff assigned to the Production Laboratory.
Manage workflow of staff, the a3600 track, the all testing instrumentation and laboratory information systems to ensure that customer turn-around times are consistently met.
Ensure adequate supply of reagents are on hand to support testing.
Partner with Customer Operations to resolve customer service issues and also support onboarding process for new clients.
Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure laboratory testing output meets testing output plan. Support creation of staffing requirement plans and laboratory capacity plans.
Collaborate with other members of the PL Management team and consult with business partners on testing processes.
Assure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current and accurate.
Coordinate new staff training and with the PL Administrative Manager and Training Supervisor ensure the competence of staff involved in sample accessioning and test processes.
Ensure that all laboratory services are performed accurately, and results released within contracted time frames. Maintain overall efficiency of laboratory operations.
With QA and the PL Compliance and Administration Manager, ensure compliance for all inspections to include federal, state, international and local regulations, such as AABB, AATB, ISO, FDA, GHA, and EU, etc.
Assist in the development of new and lean testing processes to enhance testing services.
Assist with the scheduling of staff and monitoring of time and attendance.
Provide prompt and accurate documentation of all unusual occurrences and recommend solutions to potential problem areas.
Manage post analytical sample storage to include the PL serum/plasma salvage program.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work relative to the field of assignment. The required major is Operations Management, Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or related discipline.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid United States Driver’s License
US Passport preferred
MLS (ASCP), MLT (ASCP), or equivalent preferred
Requires six or more years of laboratory experience.
Requires management experience in laboratory operations.
