Medical Technologist
The Fayetteville VA Medical Center has an immediate opening for a Medical Technologist to work within the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service. The duties and responsibilities of the Medical Technologist includes but is not limited to the following: Performs a broad range of Microbiology procedures including molecular platforms, ID/AST platform, and Blood Culture Analyzer Platforms. In addition, performs advanced and complex laboratory procedures; read and interpret gram stains and recognizes deviations from expected results. Performs specimen processing, plating a wide array of specimens to appropriate medium and selects appropriate atmospheric conditions for medium. Selects appropriate biochemical tests such as Oxidase, Cefinase, Indole, Streptex, Catalase, etc., which are routinely
