Summary:

The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team and performs various medical laboratory procedures in Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology for the use of diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of disease. The MLT assists in the operation and maintenance of afore mentioned departments by monitoring quality assurance programs to assure compliance with all accrediting agencies. Additional responsibilities included performing clinical chemistry tests both manual and automated analysis, confirming and verifying results through in-depth professional knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments, investigation and interpretation of test results before resulting in LIS according to chemistry policies and procedures.  

Requirements:

• Current Clinical Lab Scientist or Medial Laboratory Technician required
• Current Louisiana License required
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent registry required
• Knowledge of SOP and LIS validation
• Exceptional documentation, written and verbal communication skills
