As a Blood Center Technical Manager you need to know how to:
Performs accurate and appropriate testing, processing, labeling and distribution of all blood
Regulatory and legal compliance – responsibility for maintaining the blood center operations to all cGMP, FDA, CAP, AABB and state regulatory requirements. Monitoring as needed to maintain compliance with SOP, state, federal and regulatory agency accreditation requirements.
Manage and maintain the Blood Center Information Technology systems to all regulatory requirements, assuring operation, validation & standardization of systems is in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Optimization of Information Technology is used for operation of the department
Assists QA manager with development/revision of standards, policies, procedures of cGMP to meet regulatory requirements and assure compliance.
Provides and assists with education and competency assessment of associates to meet all regulatory requirements and cGMP.
Support the Blood Donor Center quality assurance program by monitoring and computer reports, blood donation records, quality control, and quality audits.
With Donor Center Director and Medical Director, designs operational processes for donor collection, labeling, processing and distribution of blood and blood components that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or science-related degree
MT or MLS (ASCP)
Minimum of three (3) years of experience including interface with blood bank computer systems and managerial experience
MBA or other managerial Master’s Degree
Specialist in Blood Banking certification
Experience in a blood center environment overseeing collections, recruitment or process under FDA regulations
