Research Blood Components, located in Watertown, MA, is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic licensed physician with ultimate responsibility for all medical and donor-related issues and for Quality Assurance and Safety.
Participates in the development of standard operating procedures and policies on medical criteria for donor eligibility as well as quality control & quality assurance.
Provides support to collection staff with regards to donor eligibility criteria and post-donation complications.
Ensures regulatory compliance of protocols and submissions to the Institutional Review Boards, including annual renewals.
Responsible for oversight of the clinical laboratory (which is limited to the automated measurement of hemoglobin) and for renewals of the limited clinical laboratory license.
This is a part-time position with an average of 5-10 onsite hours per month.
