Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Magnet recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Medical Technologist with expertise in cell therapy processing to join our Stem Cell Laboratory team.
The individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide technical expertise in the operation of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory. This includes writing & modifying SOPs, processing including red blood cell and volume reduction, cryopreservation, thawing and infusion of hematopoietic progenitor cell (HPC and other cellular therapy products ) for transplantation, guidance to other technologists, performing routine patient/sample tests, proficiency tests, quality control, preventative maintenance, validation studies, and review of processing records. Documenting deviations and occurrences and notifying team. Identifies and implements performance improvements opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field; Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a biological science discipline with 0-3 years of post-doctoral experience in an academic or pharmaceutical setting preferred.
3 years’ experience in a stem cell or cellular therapy laboratory required. Basic knowledge of FDA regulations, and AABB, CAP and FACT standards. Expert knowledge of sterile techniques.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret, summarize, and present results.
May be required to work off hours, weekends, holidays, and other shifts.
