Children's National is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our Cellular Therapy Laboratory, a rapidly growing team responsible for processing products for Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Technologist will perform Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell (Apheresis, Bone Marrow, and Cord Blood) receipt, processing, and release according to Standard Operating Procedures, FDA regulations, and FACT standards. Processing includes red blood cell depletion, volume depletion, CD34 selections, and cryopreservation. Essential tasks also include calculations of infusion cell doses, viabilities, and cell concentrations, aseptic handling of products, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with regulations. Technologist maintains knowledge of donor evaluation, screening and testing, labeling, product acceptability, and release criteria.
Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree
Specific Requirements and Preferences Bachelor's in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science (Required)
Cellular Therapy Experience
Minimum Work Experience 1 year
Specific Requirements and Preferences Experience in an accredited clinical laboratory (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge Math Ability Level: Statistics preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills important Knowledge and skills related to LIS desirable.
