Immunohematology Reference Laboratory
We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist/Blood Bank Technologist III to work in the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL) at our First Hill Seattle location.
Our IRL has served the Pacific Northwest as a regional reference laboratory for over 30 years. Technologists in this lab are responsible for: conducting workups of complex antibody problems and red cell reference testing according to Standard Operating Procedures, performing complex antibody IDs using multiple methods, prenatal testing, testing for the evaluation of suspected hemolytic transfusion reactions, compatibility testing and antibody titration studies for potential donor/recipient of progenitor cells, bone marrow and solid organ transplants. Technologists also maintain a frozen red cell inventory consisting of rare antigen negative units.
After training, the schedule is expected to be on 3rd shift Tuesday thru Friday 10 hour shifts.
A flexible schedule is required, having the ability to regularly work holidays and on-call as scheduled. Training may take place on 1st or 2nd shifts and on any day of the week.
