• Demonstrates strong Leadership, Communication, Organizational and Analytical Reasoning skills
• Plans and supervises the activities of Transfusion Services (Blood Bank) within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM)
• Ensures adherence to quality assurance and record keeping standards; in accordance to AABB, CAP, and FDA regulatory standards
• Provides technical oversight and training of employees for the provision of accurate, valid, and timely test results Job Requirements:
o Personnel presently working this capacity for more than ten years, not credentialed or holding the necessary educational requirements, may be "grandfathered" into this position in compliance with CLIA '88.
o MT (ASCP);
o MLS (ASCP);
o MT (AMT) or
o Specialty Certification or Licensure
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Transfusion Services (Blood Bank)
SBB (Specialty in Blood Banking) Certification (preferred)
Ability to use or learn to use PC based software for word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
Ability to use Laboratory information system
Leadership, strong organizational and analytical reasoning skills
