Serum Testing Medical Technologist II – Healthcare Manufacturing Technician
As the Serum Testing Medical Technologist, you will perform serological (including potency, specificity, reactivity, assays) and chemical evaluations (protein, absorbance, chloride, osmolality, pH, EDTA) of Immucor products according to department procedures.
Additional responsibilities of the Medical Technologist include:
~ Performs administrative aspects of tasks including the required recording of test results according to department procedures, quality plans/device master records, and/or work instructions (job orders).
~ Performs inventory control tasks of in-process components or products.
~ Prepares chemical solutions, reagents, calibrators and/or standards according to laboratory procedures, including liquid and dry measurements, labeling and mixing components according to the SOP.
~ Responsible for documenting all training events and updating LMS in a timely manner.
~ Performs serological tests according to department procedures and completes tasks within procedure- or department-defined timeframes.
~ Creates legible written records according to procedure/work-instruction-defined protocols and time frames.
~ Accurately calculates amount of in-process components or products received, used, or rejected.
~ Assists Management to ensure department SOPs are accurate and current.
~ Assists Management in revising SOPs and related documents as needed to ensure proper training of staff.
~ Assist with review of test results for conformance to specifications.
To qualify for the Serum Testing Medical Technologist, you must be available to work irregular hours including weekends as necessary to meet production schedules.
Additional requirements of the Medical Technologist include:
~ Bachelor Degree in Scientific field or Medical Technology
~ Medical Technologist (MT/ASCP) certification required; Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB/ASCP) certification preferred
~ CURRENT Blood Banking lab experience required; preferably in a GMP environment.
~ Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
~ Strong communication skills
~ Ability to maintain a neat, clean and orderly work environment
