Houchin Community Blood Bank, located in Bakersfield, California, is recruiting for a full time Director of Technical and Regulatory Services. Houchin is a community blood bank centrally located in California, serving Kern County for over 60 years. We operate in a state-of-the-art, three-year-old, and 42,000 square foot facility.
Under minimal direction, this position directs, monitors, and facilitates all QA and Technical Service activities. Director ensures that HCBB technical departments are fully prepared to accommodate the volume of blood dictated by the corporate strategic plan. Ensures that HCBB is a superior laboratory service provider, operating in accordance with cGMP and ensures regulatory compliance. Director is the main liaison between hospitals and HCBB and is responsible for leading and implementing new service line and technology.
Successful candidates must have a minimum of two years in medical laboratory experience and/or training in high complexity testing along with a State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License and Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) Certification. Detailed understanding of blood bank operations and quality assurance requirements (cGMP, AABB, CLIA, and CFR). Previous experience required in regulatory environment with 3+years in a management position in quality/compliance/regulatory audit preferably in laboratory, blood services or healthcare industry. Demonstrate skills in leadership and management, including fostering a team environment with subordinate involvement. Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written as well as strategic and operational planning experience.
