New York, NY -- The Department of Pathology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a faculty member to serve as an Assistant/Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine (blood bank, apheresis, and cellular therapy) at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Upper Manhattan. The successful applicant will have a strong track record of working collaboratively and collegially within a diverse academic and clinical environment. Responsibilities include assisting in the effective management of all administrative functions of a highly active Transfusion Service, clinical oversight of therapeutic apheresis procedures, coverage of the cellular therapy laboratory, and teaching of residents and fellows.
Located in New York City, The Mount Sinai Health System is an integrated health care system encompassing the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the flagship Mount Sinai Hospital, and 6 additional hospitals in the New York Metropolitan Area. Mount Sinai Hospital is home to multiple specialty services including the Tisch Cancer Center; a rapidly growing Multiple Myeloma and Bone Marrow Transplant Program; highly active heart, liver and kidney transplant programs; and an array of services to treat complex medical disorders.
Candidates must hold, or be eligible for, a medical license in the State of New York. Individuals should be Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Clinical Pathology only with subspecialty board certification/eligibility in Transfusion Medicine.
