The Chief Collections Executive (CCE) will be responsible for leading an efficient and cost- effective Whole Blood and Apheresis Collections for the Central Division. The CCE is a part of the senior management team and is responsible for multiple management and staff level with an operating budget of $200-300M and a collection goal of ~2M Whole Blood and Apheresis donations annually. The CCE will have oversight of 2,000-3,000 paid staff and volunteers who are responsible for collections. Also, they will have frequent customer contact and establishing exceptional customer relations. The incumbent is expected to lead change and provide direction to staff, project teams, and work groups. In addition, they will implement staffing and deployment policies, ensuring the implementation of system directives and direct process improvement initiatives to meet annual collection goals. The CCE is accountable for the results and performance of the Division.
The CCE is expected to achieve productivity and costs targets, build staff morale and foster strong team work. They will create an environment and manage activities to ensure that all duties and responsibilities are performed in compliance with standard operating procedures; Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.
The CCE will operate under general guidelines from SVP, Collections and will contribute to the strategic plan for Collections.
The position can be located anywhere in the country with preference for the Central Region.
Contribute to and implement the system wide strategic direction for efficient and effective collection of blood products to meet annual collection and quality goals.
Develop and monitor annual collections budget and staffing plan to ensure sufficient capacity and effective utilization of resources.
Responsible for working with various functional leads across the system to ensure achievement of the overall success of Biomed Services.
Set goals for Apheresis and Collections Directors which support the overall objectives of the organization, and is accountable for actions taken to achieve success.
Assure effective internal and external communication between all department levels, functions, and lines of service to foster teamwork and enhance operational success.
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing or related field required, Master’s degree in business, management, marketing or related field highly preferred.
Minimum ten years related experience including seven years management experience in a dynamic, multi-task operational environment with budget responsibility required.
Prior management experience in blood center operations or relevant healthcare field is required; prior American Red Cross experience highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills required.
Demonstrated skills working in a highly regulated environment required.
Demonstrated proficiency in business planning, budgetary planning and operational analysis required.
Ability to accomplish goals through delegation, teamwork and project management is necessary.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Customer focused and demonstrated ability to attract, motivate, and retain staff.
Familiarity with current medical/technical principles of blood services operations highly desirable.
