Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine has an opening for a full-time clinical pathologist. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in RPCI's multidisciplinary approach to research and teach residents and fellows. The department supports a free standing cancer institute providing both inpatient and outpatient care. Institutional strengths include leukemia and lymphoma/myeloma services, with the bone marrow transplant service performing 200 transplants /year.
Laboratory Medicine provides testing in all major disciplines and candidates will be expected to share call and coverage of all areas. Candidates with experience/expertise in transfusion medicine will be given preference. The section of transfusion medicine includes therapeutic apheresis, a minimally manipulated stem cell laboratory, blood donor center and transfusion service.
Candidates at the Assistant or Associate professor rank must:
Meet medical licensure requirements in New York State
Board Certified AP /CP or CP only
Experience in Therapeutic Apheresis
Desired additional experience or training includes:
Boarded /Board Eligible Blood Bank /Transfusion Medicine
Molecular /Microbiology experience
Eligible for NYS Certificate of Qualification in: Immunohematology, Transfusion Services, Blood Banking Collection-Comprehensive
