DUARTE, CALIFORNIA (USA). The Department of Pathology at the City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking an academic clinical pathologist for full-time appointment at the assistant or associate professor level in Transfusion Medicine.
City of Hope is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center with a large clinical program in hematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation. The Division of Transfusion Medicine is staffed with 130 medical technologists, nurses and support staff, and is composed of five service areas including the blood bank, stem cell collection and therapeutic apheresis, stem cell processing and long-term storage, blood and platelet donor center, and an NMDP donor recruitment program.
Clinical responsibilities, on-call duties, administrative, compliance, and research activities are shared with the other members of the transfusion medicine faculty. Minimum requirements include an M.D. degree, eligibility for licensure in the State of California, board certification in clinical pathology, and fellowship training in transfusion medicine.
